Lifestyle Director

I grew up in Roscoe, Illinois, a very small town 1 hour west of Chicago.  I graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration and a minor in Business Marketing.   At Western, I participated in facilitating a campus-wide Marketing Study that encompassed College Students habits on campus.  This caught the eye of one of my Marketing Professors, who asked me what my aspirations were after college.  I had my sights on the Resort/Hospitality industry in Orlando, FL, the tourism capital of the world!  Since I was a child, my family vacationed in Orlando and I fell in love right away with the overall weather and the overall beauty of the state of Florida.   I have to say that the Winter Seasons in Illinois were becoming quite miserable and the Florida weather was calling my name! 

After graduating college, I did my internship at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, FL. I had the privilege of being the first intern ever hired at the Omni Resort.   During my internship, I concentrated primarily on the Recreation department.  Once completed, I was asked to stay on and was promoted to Recreation Supervisor.  I held this position for five years, where I oversaw a 1,500 recreation department along with a Kids Camp, which I assisted in building from the ground up, and Champions 9-Hole Golf Course.  I found my true passion though was overseeing and facilitating the Team Building Program with corporations staying on the property looking for different strategic event programs to enhance their team’s cohesiveness.  I had the opportunity to work with various high profile companies including Shell Oil, American Express, Bank of America, E-Plus and many more.   One particular company actually gave me the opportunity to facilitate a team building event on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football field at Raymond James Stadium.  Probably one of my favorite events ever!

However, after 5 five years with Omni Hotels it was time for a change.  I did not have to look too far.  Right down the road the position of Lifestyle Director opened up at Del Webb Orlando.   I’ve been with Del Webb for 4 years now and I honestly can say that I’ve found my calling.  The residents here at Del Webb Orlando are as warm and inviting as the Florida sun!  I encourage you to come tour our beautiful community and meet our lovely residents and you’ll see why this community has become the “premier” Del Webb Community in Florida!!
